Tucson is as much about the people you meet as the product. Whether you are in a hotel lobby, a shuttle bus, a restaurant, or one of the various shows, Tucson is awash with people with one common interest-gems, jewelry or rocks. With 70,000 people converging on Tucson, the town becomes a big conference. The conversation typically goes something like this. “Hi are you here for the show?” Ya, what do you do…… Pearls ….I love pearls! I just saw 15MM freshwaters I couldn’t believe my eyes…and the conversation goes on.

One of
the most satisfying parts of the show was the most knowledgeable
people in the pearl industry kept stopping by our booth to marvel at
our Crown Akoya cultured pearls and our
Natural Golden Akoya
cultured pearls. There was not a lot of good quality Akoya featured
at this years show, amidst the piles of freshwater, and booth after
booth of South Sea and Tahitian. To have a product that would catch
the most jaded eyes of the experts was great! To watch the jewelers
roll the pearls between their fingers and have the luster
reflect in their eyes, was all you could ask. Then to have others
come by and say, “So and so said I should see your pearls” makes all
the miles and hard work worth it! Another 15 minutes of pearl talk
and back to business.
I wish more people knew more about pearls, it was sometimes discouraging to see Jewelers buying low quality product just because they didn’t know any better. That’s why I write this newsletter |
