Mexican Pearling
We are taking a look at some of the smaller and unusual pearling enterprises around the world. Mexican pearling is one of the smallest (about 10,000 pearls) and most unique.
This is a link to Pearls Del Mar De Cortez which began farming in 1994. These unique pearl oysters are known as the "Rainbow-Lipped Pearl Oyster" (Pteria sterna) and the "Black-Lipped Pearl Oyster" (Pinctada mazatlanica).
