Trend Alert: Pearls

SJP, Lauren and Diana showing off their pearls!

23 January 2009

By: Sinead 0'Donoghue

Celebrities return to 1950’s glamour with a simple string of pearls!

It's true what they say, some trends come and go, but others stay around forever! An item that has stood the test of time and has graced the bodies of more than one one icon is the string of pearls.

Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O are two of our favorite style icons who will be remembered for their love of pearls; they wore theirs around their necks and wrists along with drop earrings.

Thanks to Chanel , our love for pearls has continued to grow over the last few years and they’ve not only appeared in many of Karl Lagerfeld’s catwalk shows, but they’ve also appeared on many of our favorite modern-day style icons.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Lauren Conrad and Diana Vickers are the latest celeb's to return to old Hollywood style and grace the red carpet with true understated glamour.

All three wore their string of pearls with a classic LBD, paired with a no-fuss hairstyle and a pair of timeless stilettos (minus Diana, of course!)
